Got old aluminium cans or scrap at home? Check the latest aluminium scrap rates, sell it easily with ScrapUncle and earn while helping valuable metal get recycled.

Aluminium is the quiet money sitting in your house. Not the obvious stuff like an old fridge or a broken cooler, but the small things the dented pateela at the back of the kitchen shelf, the pressure cooker whose handle broke years ago, the cold drink cans from last month's party, the window frames left over from a renovation.
Most people hand all of this over mixed with their general raddi and never realise it's one of the highest-paying scrap items per kilo in an Indian home. Aluminium is light, so a bag of it doesn't look like much. But the rate makes up for the weight.
Today's Aluminium Scrap Rates
At ScrapUncle, aluminium is divided into two categories: Aluminium Can and Aluminium. The rates differ because the type and quality of scrap material are different.
- Aluminium Can - ₹53/kg
- Aluminium - ₹112/kg
These are the rates currently displayed on ScrapUncle’s rate page. Check the latest ScrapUncle scrap rates before scheduling your pickup.

Aluminium Can vs Aluminium: Kya Difference Hai?
This confuses people, since both are aluminium. The difference is in what a recycler actually gets back from each.
Regular aluminium - utensils, frames, sheets, wire - is thick, solid and usually close to pure. Melt a kilo of it down and you recover almost a kilo of usable metal. That's why it commands the higher rate.
Cans are a different story. They're extremely thin, coated with paint and a plastic lining inside, and often still have liquid residue. A lot of that weight burns off during melting, so the actual metal recovered per kilo is lower. It also takes a genuinely large number of cans to make even one kilogram, which is why people who save cans are often surprised by how little their sack weighs.
Neither is bad to sell. Just don't expect the same number and keep them in separate bags so each gets weighed at its own rate.
What Counts as Aluminium in an Average Indian Home
More than you'd think, once you start looking.
The kitchen is the biggest source, old pateelas, tiffin boxes, thalis, pressure cookers, kadhai. Then there's anything left over from construction or renovation, like window frames, door channels, sliding tracks and roofing sheets. Old ceiling fans, mixer parts and motor windings often contain aluminium too. Add cans from parties and festivals, and a single clear-out easily crosses a few kilos.
One tip worth following: if a piece has steel screws, plastic handles or rubber attached, that weight gets counted against you or the item gets bumped to a mixed-metal rate. Removing the obvious non-aluminium bits before pickup usually gets you a better number
