Can I Sell My Old Clothes Online?

Open any almirah in any Indian home and the same story plays out. One shelf you actually use, and three shelves of clothes you haven't touched in two years.

That Top that was in trend in 2019. The jeans that fit differently now. The shirt whose colour faded after four washes. The gifted salwar suit that never felt like you. Nobody throws them out, because throwing clothes feels wrong. So they just sit there, taking up the space you actually need.

Why Nobody Ever Clears Out Old Clothes

It's rarely about the clothes. It's about the decision.

Donating means finding someone who needs that exact size and style, which takes effort most weekends don't have. Selling online means photographing every piece, listing it, answering buyer questions and waiting weeks for one blouse to sell for two hundred rupees. Neither is worth it for thirty items at once.

So the pile grows. Meanwhile you're buying storage boxes to hold clothes you've already decided you don't want. That's the real cost not the clothes, but the space and the mental clutter of a cupboard you dread opening.

What Old Clothes Are Actually Worth

Old clothes may not have a high resale value, but when you have a pile of unused shirts, jeans, kurtas, trousers and other everyday clothes, they can still add some value to your household scrap pickup. The final amount depends mainly on the weight, type and condition of the clothes, as well as the current scrap rate- Clothes - ₹5/kg

So, if you are already clearing newspapers, cardboard, plastic, metal or other scrap from your home, adding those unused clothes sitting in your almirah can help you clear more space at the same time.

Purane Kapde Ready Hain? Bas Inhe Baaki Scrap Ke Saath Add Kar Dein

Winter clothes are currently not accepted, so please separate items like heavy jackets, sweaters and other winter wear before preparing your scrap.

ScrapUncle does not collect clothes as a standalone pickup. They need to go along with other scrap. So a bag of kapde plus your raddi, an old fridge, some loha, plastic bottles or a broken cooler works. Only clothes, unfortunately, doesn't.

That second condition sounds like a hassle but usually isn't. Most homes that have an almirah worth clearing also have newspapers piling up, a dead appliance in the store room. Do it all in one pickup.

Your almirah gets more space, your household scrap gets picked up, and you finally say goodbye to that pile of clothes you’ve been ignoring for months. ♻️
