Why E-Waste Recycling Matters: Your Old Electronics Are Worth More Than You Think
That old laptop in the cupboard. The charger nobody remembers buying. The TV that stopped working two years ago. Almost every Indian home has a few electronics lying around that have reached the end of their useful life.
But kabad hai toh bekaar thodi hai.
Your E-Waste Still Has Value
Old electronics contain metals, plastics and other materials that can be recovered through e-waste recycling instead of being sent to landfills.
And there’s another reason not to throw them away — they can still have a scrap value.
Current ScrapUncle rates include:
- Laptop - ₹500/unit
- Computer CPU - ₹400/unit
- Printer / Scanner / Fax Machine / LCD TV / LED TV - ₹20/kg
- CRT TV - ₹200/unit
- Tablet - ₹40/unit
Scrap prices can change, so customers should always check the latest ScrapUncle scrap rates before scheduling a pickup. ScrapUncle’s current rate page lists these prices under its IT-E waste category.
Why E-Waste Recycling Matters
Throwing electronics into regular household waste isn’t the best way to get rid of them. India has specific rules for managing electronic waste, and the Central Pollution Control Board provides guidelines for its proper collection and recycling.
Responsible electronic waste disposal helps useful materials find their way back into the recycling cycle instead of simply becoming garbage.
From Drawer to Recycling
You don’t need to carry your old electronics to a scrap shop or bargain with multiple kabadiwalas. Just schedule a doorstep e-waste pickup with ScrapUncle, get your electronics collected, and turn unused gadgets into something useful again.
Because that old device may be useless to you but it doesn’t have to become waste.
